Ornament's grave
Ornament's grave survives as part of the Lexington South Creek Office Park, formerly part of Beaumont Farm.

The Headley family's BEAUMONT FARM made up most of what is now the south western section of the city of Lexington. At the turn of the century, Hal Petit Headley stood the stallion Order, who sired the champion runner and show ring champion ORNAMENT. ORNAMENT was remembered by his owner with this stone marker, which can still be seen in the picnic area of the SOUTH CREEK OFFICE PARK, which was built over the former Beaumont stallion complex. Other famous Beaumont horses such as stallions *PHARAMOND II, and UNCLE, and the champion runner and top broodmare ALCIBIADES (dam of MENOW, SALAMINIA) are buried in unmarked graves. -- A.P.
