Rowdy Irishman ran unsuccessfully in seventeen flat races; purchased by owner Vestra Balestiere for $1500.00, he was sent over fences, where he proved highly successful. Winner to year 2000 of $596,000.00 over jumps, third highest all-time U.S. steeplechasing money-winner, he won the American Grand National twice, in 1995 and 1997, as well as a number of other rich purses.
