| Glencaraig Lady is one of only four mares who have won the Cheltenham Gold Cup. Her sire, the french-bred Fortina, won 4 races in France, was second in the Grand Steeple Chase de Paris, and won the Lancashire Chase, prior to his own Gold Cup win. As a National Hunt sire he also got Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Fort Leney and two-time American Grand National winner Bampton Castle, and four winners of the Irish Grand National. |
