See More Business, a small, plain bay gelding with a low, economical style of jumping, began his racing career in 1995/96, competing in point-to-points, over hurdles and in steeplechases. With his win of the prestigious King George VI Chase at Kempton in 1997, and two more good wins under his belt prior to the Cheltenham Gold Cup of 1998, he started favorite, but was carried out at the 13th fence, as a horse was pulled up. He did not win again until 1999, when, outfitted with blinkers, he beat a fine field for his Cheltenham Gold Cup win, showing the determination of the stayer that he is. He has since added a second King George VI Chase win, a Martell Cup win, and several other good races to his impressive list. He placed fourth in his third Gold Cup run in 2000. Having won the Pillar Chase early in the year, he was one of the favorites for the cancelled Gold Cup race of 2001, and in 2002, at age 12, placed third in that event. Bred in Britain and foaled out in Ireland, See More is by the British flat-racing staying sire, Seymour Hicks, and out of an unraced mare, Miss Redlands (by Dubassoff), who was tried at show jumping.
