British-bred Ladykiller was incorporated into the Holsteiner breeding program in 1965, proving in his 14 year tenure to be a top sire of show jumpers and a foundation sire of widespread influence in all warmblood breeds. Son Landgraf I, from a Holsteiner mare with a thoroughbred grandsire, has a bronze statue installed at the Holsteiner Association grounds to commemorate his influence on the breed, particularly showjumpers. He also produced a top dressage sire son, Lido, and a series of sons who influenced Dutch Warmblood breeding. Grandsire Blue Peter was a top class racehorse who is sometimes seen in dam lines of jumpers. |
